Peter Marlow (a descendant of Charles COMLEY) writes:
Mary Ann Diccox (nee Comley) did in fact have a little grocer's shop in Clevancy, and as far as I know this ran from the 1920s to the early 1960s. Have you ever read "Wiltshire Village" by Heather and Robin Tanner? Although semi-fictional, it refers time and time again to the "Comely" name, and most interestingly to a village shop run by "Annie Comely". Local people knew Mary Ann Diccox as "Annie" - also that she was really a Comley - helped by her son having Comley as his given name

He also supplied the following photo of the old forge in Clevancy, with the comment 'this was pulled down some time in the 50s/60s and replaced by a rather plush bungalow':
